About Boosters

A booster seat is a type of child seat that does not use a five-point harness but boosts the child so that the vehicle seat belt is positioned correctly across the child’s hip and shoulder.  Booster seats rely on the vehicle seat belts to hold both the child and the booster seat in position.

At Britax, we believe that a booster should not just simply boost the child up, but offer protection against side impact collision.  That is why our belt positioning boosters feature True Side Impact Protection™.  Seats featuring True Side Impact Protection are designed to distribute crash forces, minimize lateral head movement, contain the head, and shield the child from side impact.  The deep side walls shield and contain the child during side impact, while an adjustable head pad cradles the child’s head and prevents excessive side-to-side movement in the event of impact.
