Reinforced Harness Slots

What is a Reinforced Harness Slot?
The harness slots are the part of the seat where the harness passes through from the front to the back of the restraint at the child’s shoulders. More information on why the seat needs reinforced harness slots and how they work are below.

Where are the Reinforced Harness Slots located on the car seat?
Some Britax seats have a definitive number of harness slots, such as on the Marathon and Roundabout convertible car seats. Other seats feature a no re-thread harness and head restraint adjustment mechanism and therefore have only one set of harness slots.

TSIP
The Britax Marathon convertible car seat has four sets of harness slots.

How do I benefit from the seat having Reinforced Harness Slots?
Britax reinforces each and every harness slot so that any harness height can be used; the result is achieving a better harness fit for your child whether they are forward or rear facing. Many competitive seats specify that you use certain harness slots for your child when they are rear facing and other harness slots for when they are forward facing. Having to use certain harness slots depending on the mode may not result in the most appropriate harness fit for your child and can make using the seat very confusing.

Not only does having reinforced harness slots allow for a more custom fit for your child, but it also allows the seat to handle the increased amount of force that is applied to it during a crash.

How does the Reinforced Harness Slot work?
Britax harness slots are reinforced by design; the entire seat back was engineered to support this structural integrity.

How long has Britax incorporated Reinforced Harness Slots in their seats?
All Britax seats have included reinforced harness slots since we entered the North American market in 1996.
